At By Old Money, we keep paying simple and secure. This policy explains which payment methods we accept, how your payment is protected, and our billing terms.

1. Accepted Payment Methods

You can pay for your order using:

  • Cards: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and Diners Club.
  • Digital Wallets: Shop Pay, Google Pay, and Apple Pay.

You pay in the checkout currency shown before payment, based on your delivery country or selected checkout settings. We currently support USD, CAD, GBP, EUR, CZK, and DKK where available. All payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments, and your currency is shown at checkout before you pay.

2. Secure Payment Processing

Every payment is encrypted to industry standards and meets PCI DSS requirements. Payments are handled by Shopify Payments, a Level 1 PCI DSS certified processor, so your full card details are never exposed to us.

3. Payment Privacy & PCI Compliance

By Old Money never stores or sees your full card number.

  • All card payments are processed by Shopify Payments, our PCI DSS compliant gateway.
  • Your payment details are only used for the order you approve, and they stay encrypted throughout.

4. Payment Terms & Billing

  • Immediate Billing: You are charged the moment you place your order at checkout.
  • International Cards: If your card uses a different currency than your checkout currency, your bank or card provider may add a conversion fee. This is set by your bank or card provider, not by By Old Money.
  • Order Confirmation: Once your payment clears, we send a confirmation email. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder or email us at support@byoldmoney.com.

5. Transparent Pricing

  • The total shown at checkout is the amount paid to By Old Money for your order, including any taxes, shipping costs, or discounts shown at checkout.
  • Unless clearly stated during checkout, the checkout total does not include import duties, import VAT, customs charges, or carrier handling fees that may be charged by local authorities or delivery carriers during import or delivery.
  • No Hidden Fees from By Old Money: We do not add hidden handling or convenience charges to your payment. Any customs, import VAT, duties, or carrier handling fees are separate charges set by local authorities or carriers, not by By Old Money.

6. Sales Tax, VAT & Import Charges

  • Any sales tax or VAT collected by By Old Money is calculated automatically at checkout, based on your shipping destination and the rules that apply to your order.
  • The amount collected by By Old Money is shown before you confirm payment.
  • Orders may be dispatched from a warehouse outside your delivery country or region. As a result, your local customs authority or delivery carrier may charge import duties, import VAT, customs charges, or carrier handling fees before or during delivery.
  • Where these import-related charges apply, they are the customer's responsibility and are separate from the amount paid to By Old Money at checkout, unless clearly stated otherwise during checkout.

7. Security & Fraud Prevention

  • Every order goes through a standard fraud check.
  • If an order looks high-risk, we may ask you to confirm a few details or cancel it for your protection.
  • Our site, https://byoldmoney.com/, uses SSL encryption, so the data between your browser and our store stays private.

8. Payment Issues & Declines

If your card is declined at checkout, please check that:

  1. Your billing address matches your bank's records.
  2. Your card has not expired.
  3. You have enough funds available.
  4. If the problem continues, contact your bank or try another method such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Shop Pay.

9. Refund Method

For any return or cancellation, please see our Return & Refund Policy. Refunds are issued back to your original payment method, in the original checkout currency where possible. For security and anti-money-laundering reasons, we cannot refund a different card, bank account, or payment method.

10. Digital Invoices

After your payment, we email you a digital invoice or order confirmation as proof of purchase. It includes your order reference, an item breakdown, and the total paid to By Old Money in your checkout currency.
